Betty, the oldest chicken in town, laid this MASSIVE egg the other day...
Ouch.. It had THREE yolks. One for the family album there Betty!
Thanks for all the nice deckchair comments by the way..to answer a few questions, I bought the crochet blankets from a lady who makes them on eBay quite a while ago, the keep calm one from eBay too, but more recently and the spotty fabric, Jane from Worcestershire, is indeed from Dunelm Mill! (I think you and I must have been there at the same time!)

Jesus Sairer, that poor old hen. Is she staggering around the garden? I still get really eggsited (naff joke, but had to be done) with all the different colours and shapes our produce.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comments. I've been meaning to email you, but you know what the summer holidays are for having any spare time.

I bet she crowed about laying THAT egg! The joy of having older chickens is that they lay bigger and bigger eggs and make even the large size ones from the supermarket look weeny.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure the Easter Bunny didn't sneak that one in.. a little early admittedly!
ReplyDeleteMr Custard has started an obsession with chickens.. looks like we might e adding a few feathered friends to our family soon..
How does your cat get on with them?

What a whopper! We would love to have chickens again (they're advertising Buff Orpingtons for sale at the top of our lane!) but our current garden is just too small. Love the spotty mats, too.
