Yesterday

Yesterday was the day I was dreading.

The day I found out about the biopsy and whether they had found any cancerous cells.

Yesterday was cold and pouring with rain as I stood at the bus stop wondering how I would feel today.

Yesterday as I came home from the hospital in the afternoon, the sun shone through the bus window and I noticed everything..people, dogs, birds, pretty houses tucked behind hedges I'd never noticed before, roads I hadn't seen before and wondered where they went.

An hour alone on a bus in silence is a good time to notice things.
Little things.Everyday things.

Yesterday I came home, lit a fire, made a cup of tea and breathed a sigh of relief.

They didn't find any cancerous cells.

I still have problems, other problems and will have to be monitored and poked and prodded and operated on again..but that's another day.
Thankyou for all your kind messages yesterday, it really did mean alot.

Yesterday I made these little felt toadstools, sewing away at midnight (I'm a bit slow when it comes to hand sewing) and just thinking..you know, thinking about nothing in particular but also everything.
I thought they would be quite nice hanging from the tree,we are going to have a winter woodland theme..birds and deers and the like. Harry is pestering me like crazy to get the tree.He loves the smell of Christmas, the process of decorating and the new bauble we get each year to remember it by.He has to find me some pine cones first ..that's the deal..

If you would like some little felt toadstools too, let me know..today I've added them to my shop and tomorrow I'll make some more...x

  2. I'm so pleased for you that the results were ok. I'm sure you can endure any kind of poking and proding now you know what it's not. I totally know what you mean about noticing everything around you when a big worry goes away. I had a similar experience a few months ago. We're getting out tree this weekend. It's a bit earlier than normal but we're away the weekend after and we didn't want to leave it until the following one as that is so close to Christmas. So this weekend it is. Can't wait! Enjoy today. So pleased yesterday was ok. x

  10. That's such good news Sairer. What a weight off your mind that must be. We had the 'C' word hanging over us for quite a lot of this year and boy, we were so relieved when it wasn't we could cope with anything else after that!

I've been making felt decorations too...puddings at the moment; so cute and seem to go with the vintage baubles. Perhaps I'll try making a toadstool!

  17. Sairer,

I'm so glad that the news was good - I have been praying for you too! Trust me if you have your health then you can get through other trying times but our health is often one thing we take for granted - I know from last year when my husband was really ill! The toadstools are beautiful as are the hearts.

  19. I could feel my neck choke up as I was reading the beginning of your post. Than, I got to the good news and was able to exhale. Oh my goodness...my heart goes out to you! What a relief.
On a lighter note, I don't think it would be possible for me to like a ornament more than I like your little mushrooms. I absolutely adore one and am now headed to your shop. Every year I get one special ornament and this year it is going to be your little mushroom which I just know I will keep out all year.
